White Erochos from Argyriou Winery is a multi-varietal dry white wine made from a blend of Assyrtiko, Roditis and Sauvignon Blanc, originating from Parnassos (PGI Parnassos). Its name comes from the phrase "Eros and chous" (Love for the earth), while "Erochos" was also the ancient name of Polydrosos village in Parnassos, where the winery is located.
- Appearance: Bright, pale green-yellow color.
- Aromas: Fresh aromas of citrus fruits (lime, grapefruit) and white-fleshed fruits dominate.
- Palate: Balanced and refined, with a crisp acidity and a light, pleasant aftertaste.
- Vinification: The Sauvignon Blanc undergoes a 12-hour pre-fermentation maceration (skin contact), while the Assyrtiko and Roditis go straight to pressing. Alcoholic fermentation takes place separately for each variety and the final blend rests for 2 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
It pairs excellently with refreshing green salads, grilled fish with olive oil-lemon dressing, grilled shrimp, small fried fish, steamed mussels, fried squid and meat dishes (lemon chicken, chicken skewers and pan-fried pork bites with lemon and mustard). Finally, it shines uniquely alongside a platter of fresh fruits, such as melon and green apple. Best served at 8-10°C.
